University of Foreign Language Studies - The University of Da Nang (UD-UFLS) is one of the member universities and colleges of The University of Da Nang, founded in 1985 and re-established by the Vietnamese Government in accordance with Decree 709/QD-TTg on August 26, 2002, with the mission of training and research in human language, culture, and civilization, making contribution to the national development and international integration. It trains teachers of foreign languages, professional training for the staff of major corporations, serves as a center for cutting edge research in languages and foreign cultures and promotes Vietnamese socio-economic development, focusing on Central Viet Nam and the Western Highlands. UD-UFLS also continues to expand efforts at international cooperation and cultural exchanges with major institutions and universities. The University is selected by the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Management Board of National Foreign Language to be one of the five regional centers for foreign languages undertaking the task of training, fostering, and assessing foreign language skills, as well as developing pedagogical skills, and application of information technology in teaching and learning foreign languages. UD-UFLS has 09 faculties, 01 division, 08 departments and 06 centers. Currently, UD-UFLS is training 13 majors in English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, French and Thai Language.
